Sketchbook Experiments

So I recently got a new sketchbook- well, I may have commandeered one. Its an American History book from the 1950s and I loved the captions, the print, the exaggerated way it attempts to look at the world. In my eyes, the history within it was almost playful. So I decided on the playful theme, I would add to it. I would write in my own history.

This didn’t really start with words- and I’m a more visually inclined, so I started collaging over and into the book- inserting my emotional journeys into it, and also just playing with the intentions of the images within.

This is  something I will continue to play with, so more will be added, but here’s some images so far.
